Sophomore English


 English 21:
Honors 10th grade English is an accelerated Pre-AP course designed for students who are highly competent and motivated in both reading and writing and are geared to be independent learners. Students will cover a variety of classic and modern world literature texts including: 




--Jane Eyre

--King Lear

--The Once and Future King

--Lord of the Flies



English 22: 

College preparatory 10th Grade English is a course for a motivated, college-bound student. This course expects students to read, write,think and speak at high levels. The work load is rigorous, but not as fast-paced as the honors course. Students will cover a variety of classic and modern world literature texts, including: 


-- Reading Strategies Unit 


--Lord of the Flies



-- Teacher's Choice: Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Nimona, or The Secret Life of Bees
