We know that in the age of information and the shift to a global economy, students who graduate from the Bethel Public Schools are going to need to demonstrate skills and knowledge, which prepare them for college and/or career readiness. In the literature, these skills are sometimes referred to as 21st Century Skills, which we are now referring to as our vision for a graduate or global competencies. We expect that students who graduate from the Bethel Public Schools be proficient in all skill areas.

By using these rubrics (below), Pre-K through grade 12, it will help to develop a common understanding among our staff, students, and parents. The Bethel Public Schools will embed these rubrics into the curriculum as they align to the academic tasks within units. By using the rubrics at all grade levels, students will have multiple, sustained experiences throughout their schooling. We will work towards creating systems of reporting student progress on the Global Competencies.
