Trigonometry 31
One Semester .5 Credit
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra II 31 and Plane Geometry 21
Course Description: This
accelerated course is designed for identified students of high
mathematical ability who are planning to take AP Calculus their senior
year. Students study the same concepts presented in Trigonometry 42, but
to a greater depth and at a more intensive pace. Following that study
they are introduced to vectors, polars and parametric equations
involving the trigonometric functions. Trigonometry 31 can be taken in
conjunction with Precalculus 31 or after successfully completing
Precalculus 31.
Trigonometry 42
One Semester .5 Credit
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra II and Geometry
Course Description:
Trigonometry provides a foundation for advanced work in mathematics.
The trigonometric functions are introduced as both real and circular
functions, and definitions of functions and inverse relations are used
to derive various formulas. This course will include the sketching of
trigonometric functions and proofs of the trigonometric identities.
Trigonometry can be taken in conjunction with precalculus or after
successfully completing precalculus.
