English Department

 OUR MISSION:

The English Department is committed to producing great readers, writers, researchers, and critical thinkers. At the end of four years, our students will know how to argue effectively, speak eloquently, and think analytically. Our students will know how to use their voice and imagination as they write for different audiences and purposes.

Our students will read a wide variety of literature--novels, essays, plays, memoirs, and poetry that will encourage them to question the world around them and ponder the complexities of the human condition. When students leave Bethel High, it is our hope that they will appreciate the power of language, respect the craft of writing, and continue to be life-long readers.
